Our school is situated in the heart of the residential suburb of West Hobart, immediately adjacent to the city.

The school was established in 1916 and has had various modifications and additions. The school grounds are approximately 3 hectares and we have the use of an oval that is maintained by the Hobart City Council.

We are fortunate to be in close proximity to Knocklofty Reserve. Students have the opportunity to participate in bushwalking, tree planting and flora and fauna study activities with the support of the Knocklofty Landcare Group and other government and non-government agencies.

There are more than 330 students enrolled in our school, representing many nationality and language backgrounds. In the past, for example, we have welcomed students from Bosnia, Serbia and Lebanon. Recently we have welcomed students from a number of African countries.
